Early Music series: Antonio de Cabezon Tientos y Glosados. The blind organist Antonio de Cabezon was one of the most distinguished musicians in Spain in the second quarter of the sixteenth century, serving the Emperors Charles V and Philip II. The present recording by Accentus offers a wide repertoire of compositions published for keyboard or plucked string instruments, but here played, as they might have been, by a varied ensemble of early instruments.
