'Shooting Stars' is the fourth book in a progressive series preceded by 'Stepping Stones', 'Waggon Wheels' and 'Fast Forward'. Most of the 21 pieces involve backward extensions; the last five tunes also introduce fourth position fingering. The collection also offers rhythmic challenges (triplets, basic syncopation, a piece in five time), a little chromaticism and some new bowings.
