Matteo Carcassi (c.1793-1853) was an Italian guitarist who spent much of his life in Paris. This set of studies, 25 Etudes Melodiques Progressives, Op60, is perhaps his most famous work & has been known to generations of guitarists. This edition is newly established from the original editions of Carcassi's time. The fingering is that of those original editions & no new fingering has been added. Notes on technique & interpretation are provided.
